Effective Speaking and Listening for Lawyers – 12 March 2024

Barrister Portia Baker is offering Brightlink learners this opportunity to join her workshop on effective listening and speaking for lawyers.

Portia’s area of specialism in the last 10 years has been almost exclusively civil litigation, including employment matters. As with most Barristers, in the early stages of her career Portia had no specialism and conducted work in all areas at a junior level.

Portia had a significant criminal practice for the first 5 years of her career, this included jury trials. She defended and prosecuted, as part of her training as a prosecutor Portia had a month secondment with Northampton CPS. Portia has appeared in courts at every level, and has communicated with many people in many different ways.

Portia has found it essential to work to perfect the art of effective speaking and listening and as part of this workshop she will share her techniques with you.

This workshop takes place on Zoom and you will need a camera and microphone to participate. The more you join in the more you’ll get from the session and there’ll be a part for everyone to play.
