SPOTLIGHT ON CHARTERED LEGAL EXECUTIVES 2021 FEATURING FRANCES EDWARDS
Frances Edwards will be one of the featured speakers in our May 2021 week of events beginning on Monday 24th May. Our learners and colleagues tell us that they attend lots of events with other lawyers that are for everyone in the profession and quite right too. Sometimes they attend events aimed at other kinds of legal professionals but they don’t see events that are specifically focussed on Chartered Legal Executives. They tell us they would like something that gives them information, lets them meet and hear from others who are in a similar role or a few steps ahead. In addition, they would like an event which gives them a sense of history, policy and community.
We are planning guest speakers, panels and workshops and anybody with any kind of interest in the legal profession and Chartered Legal Executives is most welcome.
Frances joined Caswell Jones in 1995 and has been a member of the Family team ever since. She has extensive experience in Matrimonial law. She specialises in divorce and financial matters and is a member of The Law Society’s Family Panel and Resolution. Frances was made Partner in the firm in 2015.
Frances is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx). She was CILEx Council Member for Wales from 2008 to 2018 and was National President in 2014/2015. Frances remains involved with CILEx as Wales Advisor. Frances takes a great interest in access to justice in Wales and is a Member of the Legal Wales Board and is a Trustee of the Access to Justice Foundation and Reaching Justice Wales. In recognition of her contributions to the legal profession in South Wales, Frances was awarded the Simon Mumford Memorial Award on 22/4/16. Frances also received the CILEx Lifetime Achievement Award on 5/9/19 for her outstanding contribution to CILEx and was the Chartered Legal Executive of the Year in 2020 at the Family Law Awards.
During the spotlight week Frances will share some insights on the career route to partnership as a panellist along with Donna Hart and will answer questions on work in the family law practice area.
