Dear learners, as you know we offer workshops for our CPQ courses which are a key resource. Those learners who attend workshops pass their exams and this is proven by the data time and again. We can only run workshops where two or more people book to attend them, as you can’t hold a workshop with one person. However the most benefit from a workshop comes from lots of learners attending and participating.
We recently started recording our workshops so that you can watch them back for revision and so that if on a very rare occasion you are unable to attend one of your workshops due to holiday or ill health, you can be sure not to miss out. It also means that no matter when you join a course you can see all the workshops, even if they happened before you joined. If we receive low numbers of bookings for workshops or lack of attendance due to withdrawing from workshops after booked, whether you notify us or not, we will cease taking recordings and making them available. These next couple of weeks are your opportunity to use the workshop recording function or lose it. So please do make the most of it, make sure you book on and attend or this opportunity may be lost to everyone in the new year.
Please note that if your employer pays for your course, or you are an apprentice we report back to them monthly on whether you attend workshops or not. If you do not they may be reluctant to pay for courses in future. If you are an apprentice, workshops are a part of your course that we, Welsh Government and your employer expect you to participate in and they give you a much better opportunity for success, so why would you not want to? As an apprentice you have one funded opportunity at each exam. If you need any resits or choose to defer any exams you or your employer must pay for them. Your employer will use your use of all the resources and support available, including attendance at workshops to decide whether they will pay or require you to pay for yourself.
