About this event
Start your preparation on the subject pre-release materials as soon as they come out to give you lots of time to be exam ready.
Take the opportunity in this group workshop to hear what other learners have identified and prepared for the CILEX exam pre-release material, share what you have prepared and hear from a subject specialist tutor if they think you’re on the right track. They’ll share their insights too.
Take everything you learn and use it to motivate and inform your revision, your recall practise and your exam technique preparation with a really good grasp of what you’re aiming for.
You’ll need to come to the workshop fully prepared having worked your way thoroughly through the pre-release materials with your notes.
Everyone is welcome. For Brightlink learners with a live subscription in this subject on the workshop date the workshop is free and is compulsory. There are no alternative one to one meetings available for this so you must attend.
Former Brightlink learners in this subject who have expired subscriptions will pay just £15.
Learners who study with other accredited centres will pay just £35.
When you purchase your ticket, before the event date your host tutor will share a link for the video conferencing platform Zoom so you can join the workshop. You do not need a Zoom account, you can access from a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop but laptop or desktop are better. You will need an internet connection, a working camera and a working microphone to participate.

Neurodiversity and Leadership
Are you a neurodivergent leader or a leader who is managing colleagues in a team where some are neurodivergent?
This event, not to be missed by anyone in leadership, especially within the legal sector, is an opportunity to hear from and speak with Jodie Hill, law firm owner, employment lawyer, author and broadcaster.
Following her mental breakdown (which she now refers to as her mental breakthrough!), Jodie Hill decided to set up her own employment law firm where her values around mental health and diversity & inclusion would be the foundations of the firm and are embodied in everything she and her Tribe do.
Thrive Law was born in 2018 and is uniquely positioned as the only employment law firm that adopts this unique approach, blending D&I wellbeing with employment law and HR advice, in the UK.
Jodie is passionate about creating an environment where both her and her team can Thrive. Her mission is to educate and empower employers to create their own thriving cultures. She is a legal disrupter, keen to change the status quo of leadership in the legal sector.
Outside of Thrive, Jodie is founder and chair of This is Me Yorkshire, a global, business led mental health initiative, she is a Law Care Champion, a member of Neurodiversity in Law, and in 2020 was appointed as a member of The Law Society’s Employment Law Committee.
Jodie appears on regional and national TV and radio, most recently Channel 4’s Steph’s Packed Lunch. She has appeared on BBC world and regional news, Sky news and ITV news as well as being featured in the guardian, Times and Independent to name a few!
Jodie is also a proud ambassador for Women in Law UK, was featured on the Northern Powers future List 2019 and has been nominated for Northern Power Women’s Entrepreneur of the Year 2022.
Jodie is a keen advocate for all things D&I and wellbeing and writes regular print columns for local and national press and is a legal expert for many radio stations across the UK.
This workshop will cover:
• Jodie’s story of setting up a law firm and her ADHD diagnosis.
• What is Neurodiversity? How does it impact leadership?
• How do neurodivergent leaders lead? What does good leadership look like?
• How do you manage neurodivergent employees?
• What are reasonable adjustments?
• How to reduce impact and influences which may negatively impact neurodivergent employees, and how to encourage understanding
