BRIGHTLINK LEARNING PROFESSIONAL SKILLS SCHEDULE 2019
Each year you have two opportunities to enter your professional skills work for a CILEx submission window. You must enter yourself as you would for an examination and you are responsible for knowing and following the relevant deadlines for this and meeting the costs.
Only work which is assessed to be a pass by your centre’s tutor and internal verifier can be submitted to CILEx. So you must achieve that pass before entering yourself for the assessment via CILEx examination entry process. If you enter yourself before you have a provisional pass from your Brightlink tutor and internal verifier you may be unable to submit your work to the External Verifier, if this happens you will lose your money and have to pay CILEx again for another opportunity to submit.
Your course subscription with Brightlink gives you two opportunities to submit your assessed work for marking. If you wish to submit more than twice this will incur an additional marking fee. Your tutor or Brightlink customer services can advise you on this.
CILEx have very strict rules forbidding most feedback by tutors and internal verifiers. You must ensure you are familiar with their regulations which are followed by Brightlink at all times.
No matter what the opinion of the assessing tutor and internal verifier the final decision of pass or fail lies with the CILEx External Verifier and their ultimate discretion. We have no control over this but will try to advise you on the steps to give you the best chance in that final assessment.
Please note the below are final deadlines, you will agree interim deadlines for first submissions with your tutor, you’ll need some time working through your unit before that submission too. See our terms and conditions for the service level we offer in relation to marking times for skills work. Your tutor has many learners to work with so will be unable to accept work which shortens their marking time or to offer an extension on the below deadlines. It is the learner’s responsibility to plan carefully for these dates. The below applies to all skills units:

Q – What do I need to provide to study for CILEx qualifications with Brightlink?
The formula for success in studying CILEx is time and commitment plus tutor guidance and reading what the examiner is reading. CILEx examiners recommend a text to read for each unit at both levels. When they’re writing the exam paper they’ll be expecting that you have read that book and will know what’s in it. Recommended texts are published by a variety of publishers. At level 6 these can be found on the CILEx website under recommended reading http://www.cilex.org.uk/study/information_for_students/recommended_reading.aspx at level 3 the recommended texts are published by CILEx Law School http://www.cilexlawschool.ac.uk/publications/printed please be careful when using the shop you only need the relevant manual not the full course. Your tutor will support you fully with updates and revision so you won’t need to pay for any extra time or materials.
